Primary Teaching Assistant – Exeter

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Primary Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant school community in Exeter. The role offers fixed term-time hours, allowing you to focus on supporting classroom learning while enjoying a healthy work‑life balance.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the classroom teacher with daily lesson preparation and activity set‑up.
• Provide one‑to‑one or small‑group support for pupils in reading, writing and numeracy.
• Create a safe, positive and engaging environment for young learners.
• Help manage classroom behaviour and supervise children during break times.

Required profile

• Previous experience working with children in schools, nurseries, youth clubs, sports coaching or volunteering.
• Patient, resilient and encouraging personality.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.

• Ability to support literacy and numeracy development.

What we offer

• Fixed hours (8:30 am – 3:30 pm, Monday‑Friday, term‑time only).
