Primary Teaching Assistant – Great Barr

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Primary Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a school located in Great Barr, Birmingham. The role offers flexible, part‑time assignments covering day‑to‑day supply, short‑term bookings and longer‑term placements across schools in Birmingham and surrounding areas.

Key responsibilities

• Support pupils’ educational development and assist the designated teacher in managing the classroom.
• Create a positive and engaging atmosphere for all students.
• Provide tailored assistance for SEND pupils.
• Monitor student progress and report to the teacher as needed.
• De‑escalate behavioural conflicts and recognise good behaviour in line with school policies.

Required profile

• Enhanced DBS on the update service.
• Relevant qualifications or experience in a teaching support role.
• Willingness to undertake additional training when required.
• Flexibility to work on a supply or short‑term basis.
