Primary Teaching Assistant (SEN) – Full‑time Temporary

About the role

Reed, a Lancashire teaching agency, is looking for a dedicated Primary Teaching Assistant with a focus on Special Educational Needs (SEN). The role is full‑time and temporary, running from September 2026 for the academic year.

Key responsibilities

• Support a KS1 class of pupils with SEN throughout the school day (08:45‑15:30).
• Assist the class teacher in preparing and delivering lessons.
• Provide one‑to‑one or small‑group support to help students understand material and complete tasks.
• Help manage classroom resources and set up activities.
• Supervise pupils during lunch, recess and other non‑classroom times.
• Contribute to monitoring and recording student progress.

Required profile

• Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a school setting, preferably with SEN pupils.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with children.
• Good organisational abilities and teamwork orientation.
• Commitment to professional growth and development.
