Primary Teaching Assistant – Temporary Contract

About the role

This temporary contract position supports children in a mainstream primary school in Horsham who need extra help with reading, writing and task breakdown. You will work closely with teachers and other support staff to create a safe and effective learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Work alongside teachers, therapists and other support staff.
• Ensure equipment and facilities are safe for children to use.
• Prepare activities and tidy the classroom afterwards.
• Develop an understanding with each child to maintain an optimal learning environment.
• Report any safeguarding concerns promptly and accurately.

Required profile

• A caring, compassionate and resilient nature.
• A proactive, ‘can‑do’ attitude.
• Willingness to undergo a DBS check (support provided).
• Must not be barred from working with children.
