Primary Tutor – 1:1 Tuition (Somerset)

About the role

Quantum Scholars is seeking caring and reliable primary tutors to deliver one‑to‑one tuition for primary‑aged children across Somerset. The role involves visiting children’s homes or community settings to provide personalised learning support.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver tailored 1:1 learning activities for primary‑aged pupils.
• Support core skills such as literacy, numeracy, communication and confidence.
• Use creative, interest‑led approaches to engage each child.
• Adapt sessions to suit individual pace, emotional readiness and any SEND, SEMH or anxiety needs.
• Maintain brief records of session content, attendance and progress.
• Collaborate professionally with parents, carers and relevant professionals.

Required profile

• Experience working with primary‑aged children.
• Patient, nurturing and flexible approach.
• Strong communication and organisational abilities.
• Commitment to safeguarding and positive child outcomes.
• Legal right to work in the UK.
• Willingness to obtain an enhanced DBS and provide references.
