Principal Cloud Engineer

About the role

Graphcore is seeking a Principal Cloud Engineer to join its Cloud Platform Team. You will work closely with Software Platform, Datacentre Operations and Product Development teams to design, deploy and operate cloud services that power cutting‑edge AI systems.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and extend existing OpenStack‑based private cloud services.
• Lead technical initiatives, mentor junior engineers and enforce best engineering practices.
• Develop and run end‑user services on both private and public clouds, translating product requirements into production deployments.
• Build automation for metrics collection, observability and issue reporting.
• Collaborate with Datacentre Operations to keep AI hardware fleets at peak performance.

Required profile

• Extensive experience with cloud infrastructure and Infrastructure‑as‑Code tooling.
• Strong background in high‑performance networking, storage systems and observability.
• Hands‑on experience in a datacentre, cloud provider or IT organization.
• Ability to work with unproven hardware and software components.
