Principal Contractor Site Manager – National Grid SR163

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Civil Principal Contractor Site Manager (PCSM) to lead high‑voltage substation and infrastructure upgrade projects for National Grid. The role is based in North London and will run for an initial 12‑month period, rolling as required.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily civil engineering and construction activities on site, ensuring safety and compliance.
• Enforce National Grid SR163 supplier requirements and oversee temporary works, excavation safety, and risk assessments.
• Act as the primary liaison between subcontractors, stakeholders, and National Grid representatives.
• Coordinate site delivery, monitor progress, and ensure work aligns with strict National Grid standards.

Required profile

• Current National Grid SR163 PCSM qualification.
• Valid SMSTS certification and up‑to‑date First Aid at Work.
• Temporary Works Coordinator or Supervisor ticket.
• HSG47 (Underground Services) awareness.
• National Grid Competent Person (NSI 8 Full) status.
