Principal DevOps Engineer – SC Clearance (Hybrid, London)

About the role

We are seeking a Principal DevOps Engineer with Security Clearance (SC) to join a leading consultancy delivering cutting‑edge solutions for public sector and defence clients. The role is based in London with a hybrid working model, offering the chance to influence high‑impact, mission‑critical projects.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain cloud‑native platforms on AWS using Infrastructure as Code.
• Lead the development and operation of CI/CD pipelines with tools such as Jenkins and Bamboo.
• Manage containerised workloads using Kubernetes and Docker.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams.
• Support production Linux environments (RHEL/CentOS) and ensure reliability and security.

Required profile

• Active SC Clearance or eligibility for SC clearance.
• Based in London or able to travel to London regularly.
• Proven experience in a senior or principal DevOps / platform engineering role.

Required skills

• Linux administration (RHEL/CentOS).
• Version control with Git, GitHub or GitLab.
• AWS cloud services.
• Infrastructure as Code using Terraform (and optionally Ansible).
• Kubernetes and Docker container technologies.
• CI/CD pipeline tools such as Jenkins and Bamboo.
• Understanding of micro‑services and modern platform architecture.
