Principal Electrical/Mechanical Engineering Team Leader (MEP)

About the role

We are seeking a Principal Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Team Leader to join our MEP design team. You will lead the design and delivery of complex building services projects across public and private sectors, ensuring technical excellence and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design delivery of high‑quality M&E solutions for new builds, refurbishments and minor works.
• Support the Head of Service in managing the M&E design teams and coordinating multidisciplinary design efforts.
• Oversee technical delivery, including feasibility studies, multi‑stage designs, specifications, condition reports and technical advice.
• Maintain engineering standards, QA procedures, document control and Health & Safety policies.
• Build and sustain strong client relationships across both public and private sectors.

Required profile

• Chartered Engineer and member of CIBSE or IET.
• Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Building Services Design Engineering or a related discipline.
• Extensive experience leading M&E design teams on large‑scale construction projects.
• Proven ability to manage team performance, utilisation and professional development.
