Principal Electronics Design Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Principal Electronics Design Engineer to lead hardware development for advanced products and systems. You will act as the senior electronics authority, shaping architecture and guiding designs from concept through to production.

Key responsibilities

• Define electronics architecture and set technical direction.
• Lead analogue and digital hardware design from concept to production.
• Own PCB quality, robustness and manufacturability.
• Drive hardware design reviews and provide technical sign‑off.
• Support EMC, compliance and validation activities.
• Collaborate with software and automation engineers to ensure integrated system performance.
• Support prototype development, testing, debugging and production transfer.
• Maintain and improve electronics design standards and engineering best practice.

Required profile

• Degree in Electronics Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong experience in electronics product development, both analogue and digital.
• Understanding of motor control, PLCs and electrical engineering principles.
• Proven track record of delivering products into manufacture.
• Knowledge of embedded systems and hardware/firmware interaction.
• Practical experience with microcontroller‑based systems and regulatory compliance.
• Confident technical decision‑maker with exposure to Embedded C or C++.
