Principal Fire Engineer – Lead Service Development

About the role

We are launching an in‑house fire engineering service for a respected independent consultancy. As a Principal Fire Engineer you will shape the service, work on high‑profile commercial projects and progress towards a director role.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver fire strategies, technical advice and design solutions.
• Support due‑diligence, refurbishment and remediation projects.
• Collaborate with building surveyors, project managers and other engineers.
• Advise major investors, developers, owners and occupiers.
• Help shape service standards, future growth and new business opportunities.

Required profile

• Experience within a fire engineering consultancy.
• Relevant fire engineering or STEM qualification.
• Knowledge of Approved Document B, BS 9999 and BS 7974.
• Experience using or interpreting CFD and evacuation models.
• Membership of MIFireE and IEng/CEng status or progress towards it.
• Understanding of FRA and FRAEW.
