Principal Recruitment Consultant – M&E Surveying (Leeds)

About the role

We are seeking a Principal Recruitment Consultant to lead our Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Surveying desk in Leeds. This senior, hybrid role combines strategic business development with consultative recruitment, allowing you to own a portfolio of key accounts and build a high‑performing team.

Key responsibilities

• Generate and convert a self‑sourced pipeline of new business across M&E surveying, construction and housing.
• Manage a focused portfolio of strategic key accounts (fewer than 10), deepening relationships and increasing share‑of‑wallet.
• Conduct consultative discovery conversations to translate client pain points into tailored recruitment solutions.
• Nurture a strong supply‑side network of engineers, chartered surveyors and other technical professionals.
• Collaborate directly with the Managing Director and have the opportunity to build a team around you.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in technical recruitment, preferably within construction, housing, engineering or surveying.
• Proven business development track record with self‑generated prospecting, cold outreach and closing deals within 1‑3 month sales cycles.
• Direct experience recruiting for M&E, structural or surveying disciplines, or a technical sales background in construction.
• Consultative selling style, comfortable leading with questions and engaging in commercial conversations.
