Principal Software Developer – AI Integration (C#/.NET)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Principal Software Developer to lead AI integration within our engineering team in Reading. You will work closely with developers to embed AI‑powered tools into the software development lifecycle, boosting productivity and modernising our processes.

Key responsibilities

• Drive the adoption of AI technologies across the development team.
• Integrate AI‑assisted tools such as Claude, GitHub Agents, and other agentic solutions into existing workflows.
• Collaborate with developers to design and implement AI‑enhanced features.
• Automate routine engineering tasks to improve efficiency.
• Provide guidance and best‑practice recommendations for AI usage.

Required profile

• Strong commercial experience developing software with C# and .NET.
• Proven experience leading or supporting AI adoption in a software development environment.
• Familiarity with AI‑assisted development tools and agentic technologies.
• Excellent communication skills to influence technical teams.

What we offer

• Day rate up to £550, outside IR35.
• Initial 3‑month contract with potential extension to 18 months.
