About the role
This role is with a fast‑growing engineering consultancy based in Cambridge, delivering mechanical and electrical design services across a range of sectors. As a Principal or Associate M&E Design Engineer you will provide expert engineering support for built‑environment projects and help shape the company’s growth.
Key responsibilities
- Collaborate with clients to define project objectives and develop innovative, cost‑effective mechanical and electrical solutions.
- Prepare budgets, tender documents and manage projects from design stage (Stage 2) through to construction stage (Stage 4).
- Ensure designs comply with relevant regulations, standards and best practice.
- Conduct site inspections and produce comprehensive condition reports.
- Oversee project delivery, monitoring progress and addressing technical issues.
Required profile
- Degree or Masters in engineering.
- Member of the Chartered Institute of Building Services (or equivalent) and Chartered Engineer status.
- Full driving licence.
- Excellent communication, problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
- Flexibility to work on a variety of project types and adaptability to changing requirements.
