Principal/Associate/Chief Offshore Geotechnical Engineer

About the role

A leading international engineering and project management firm is expanding its Offshore Geotechnical practice and seeks a senior geotechnical professional to provide authoritative technical review and drive capability across the business. This position sits at the heart of the organisation’s technical strength, influencing complex, high‑value offshore energy projects.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership on complex geotechnical and seismic design projects.
• Deliver independent review, assurance and challenge as senior technical authority.
• Lead and mentor numerical modelling teams using advanced software tools.
• Support and up‑skill engineers across the business in advanced geotechnical principles.
• Drive innovation in digital delivery and advanced analysis methods.
• Collaborate within multidisciplinary project teams and engage confidently with clients.

Required profile

• Strong academic background in engineering, preferably with an M.Sc. or PhD.
• Chartered Engineer status in the UK (mandatory).
• Significant experience in geotechnical and seismic analysis and design.
• Proven leadership of numerical modelling teams.
• Deep understanding of advanced soil constitutive models, parameter selection and model calibration.
• Experience validating and managing complex numerical analyses in multidisciplinary environments.
• Willingness to travel on short assignments in the UK and overseas and hold a valid UK driving licence.
