Print & Graphics Designer – Kidswear

About the role

Join River Island’s Design Team as a Print & Graphics Designer for the Kidswear range. You will be responsible for creating trend‑forward, affordable fashion pieces that reflect the brand’s unique style and meet commercial targets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop complete product concepts from idea to final sample, ensuring they capture key trends and commercial opportunities.
• Apply strong knowledge of fabric, engineering, fit and quality to produce technically sound designs with a high first‑sample hit rate.
• Conduct market and customer research to shape product development discussions and identify new design opportunities.
• Align designs with sales history, margin targets and range plans to drive commercial results.
• Collaborate closely with buying, suppliers, fabric mills and sourcing teams to source new trends and materials.
• Mentor junior designers, trainees and assistants, managing their workload and fostering a diverse, inclusive design environment.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Junior Designer or equivalent.
• Relevant design qualifications and a portfolio of design work.
• Proven track record of mentoring and developing junior talent.
• Strong organisational, verbal communication and commercial acumen.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator.
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Photoshop.
