Prison Contractor Escort (Temporary)

About the role

This temporary position involves escorting and supervising contractors while they work on construction projects inside HMP Eastwood Park. You will ensure the safety of Ministry of Justice (MOJ) and non‑MOJ personnel, maintain security protocols and support the efficient delivery of work on site.

Key responsibilities

• Book in and escort all contractors, tools and vehicles entering the establishment.
• Check and maintain an up‑to‑date tool and plant list.
• Search contractors and enforce the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Supervise contractors continuously while on site.
• Maintain regular radio communication and keep accurate records of those in your charge.
• Act as the first on‑scene responder for incidents and work with the team to resolve them.
• Respect prisoners' rights and dignity while performing duties.

• Honest, reliable and hard‑working.
• Trustworthy with great attention to detail.
• Excellent team player able to follow instructions.
• Willingness to undergo on‑site training.

Required skills

What we offer

• Hourly rate of £14.55 inclusive of holiday pay.
• Full‑time 37‑hour week, Monday‑Friday (8 am‑5 pm, with flexibility).
• Overtime paid at weekday rates for hours beyond 37 per week.
