Private Client Lawyer – Ipswich & Colchester

About the role

We are seeking a Private Client Lawyer to join our growing team serving clients in Ipswich and Colchester. The role offers a varied caseload of wills, probate and lasting powers of attorney, with the chance to influence the department’s expansion and future leadership opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a diverse private client portfolio, including wills, probate and LPAs, with a high degree of autonomy.
• Provide clear, practical legal advice while maintaining exceptional client care standards.
• Support the growth of the private client service across both offices.
• Build and nurture long‑term client relationships through a personable, consultative approach.
• Collaborate with colleagues across locations in a team‑oriented culture.
• Contribute to business development initiatives and departmental growth plans.

Required profile

• Proven experience handling wills, probate and powers of attorney matters.
• Excellent communication and client‑care abilities.
• Commercial awareness with a proactive attitude towards business development.
• STEP qualification desirable but not essential.
• Values collaboration, flexibility and a modern team culture.
