Private Client Paralegal

About the role

We are seeking a Private Client Paralegal to join a small, reputable professional services firm in Selkirk, supporting a diverse portfolio of private client matters. The successful candidate will work closely with senior lawyers to deliver high‑quality legal services to individuals and families.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload covering wills, trusts, estate planning and related private client work.
• Draft and review legal documents with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Provide advice and support to clients, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
• Conduct legal research to underpin case strategy and document preparation.
• Liaise with clients, third parties and internal teams to facilitate smooth case progression.
• Maintain up‑to‑date case files and records.
• Assist in preparing court documents and attend hearings when required.

Required profile

• Recognised law qualification or equivalent experience in a legal environment.
• Strong knowledge of private client matters such as wills and estates.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to juggle multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively.
• Detail‑oriented, proactive problem‑solver with a client‑focused attitude.
