Private Client Solicitor (5+ years PQE)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Private Client Solicitor to join our collaborative team in Chester. You will manage a diverse caseload of individuals and families, providing expert advice on wills, probate and estate matters while contributing to the growth of the department.

Key responsibilities

• Handle a varied private client portfolio covering wills, succession planning, probate, estate administration, lasting powers of attorney and Court of Protection work.
• Deliver high‑quality, tailored legal advice and build trusted client relationships.
• Work closely with the Head of Department and leadership team to shape strategic development.
• Mentor junior colleagues and share knowledge where appropriate.
• Support clients with empathy through complex and sensitive personal matters.
• Identify new business opportunities, nurture professional contacts and attend networking events to expand the firm’s private client offering.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years post‑qualification experience in private client work.
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to manage competing priorities with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and a genuine commitment to client care.
• Proactive attitude towards business development and team success.
