Private Client Solicitor Director

About the role

Duncan Lewis Solicitors is seeking a Private Client Solicitor Director to lead its Wills and Probate department. Reporting directly to the Board, you will shape the service offering for high‑net‑worth individuals and families, ensuring compassionate, expert advice across complex estate matters.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of Wills, Probate and Lasting Powers of Attorney work, delivering high‑quality client service.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to solicitors, trainees and paralegals.
• Supervise and develop a team of private‑client professionals.
• Manage a diverse caseload, including international wills, contested probate and Islamic inheritance matters.
• Collaborate with the Board to meet performance and business targets.

Required profile

• Professional, proactive approach with strong client‑care sensibility.
• Demonstrated ability to handle complex, high‑value estate matters.
• Experience supervising solicitors, trainees and support staff.
• Excellent communication and empathetic understanding of client needs.

Required skills

• Wills drafting and probate administration.
• Inheritance tax planning and international estate advice.
• Handling contested wills and Islamic inheritance issues.
• Knowledge of Lasting Powers of Attorney processes.
