About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a market‑leading specialist practice in Edinburgh, advising high‑net‑worth individuals, families, landed estates and business owners on complex succession, trust and estate planning matters. You will develop your expertise alongside recognised specialists in a supportive, highly respected environment.

Key responsibilities

• Advise high‑net‑worth clients, families and trustees on estate and succession planning.
• Draft wills, trusts, powers of attorney and other private‑client documentation.
• Manage administration of estates and complex trust structures.
• Collaborate with specialists across property, family, business and tax disciplines to deliver integrated advice.
• Build long‑term trusted relationships while providing commercially focused, empathetic guidance.

Required profile

• Solicitor (or equivalent) with at least 2 years post‑qualification experience in private client, tax or succession planning.
• Experience advising on trusts, estates, succession and wealth preservation.
• STEP qualified, working towards STEP qualification, or willing to undertake funded STEP studies.
• Strong technical knowledge, excellent communication and client relationship skills.
• Proactive, commercially aware and able to manage a varied caseload with appropriate supervision.
• Comfortable working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary professional services environment.
