Private Client Solicitor – Probate & Estate Administration

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Private Client Solicitor to join our well‑established team in Haywards Heath. You will manage a varied caseload of probate and estate administration matters, providing a highly personal service to elderly and vulnerable clients.

Key responsibilities

• Manage probate and estate administration matters ranging from straightforward to high‑value, technically complex cases.
• Handle taxable and high‑net‑worth estate administrations.
• Advise on trusts and support trust administration.
• Assist elderly and vulnerable clients with powers of attorney and Court of Protection issues.
• Work independently with minimal supervision while contributing to a collaborative team.

Required profile

• At least 5 years post‑qualification experience (PQE) in private client work.
• Strong technical knowledge of probate, estate administration and trust law.
• Excellent client care skills and ability to build long‑term relationships.
• Proactive, detail‑oriented and able to work autonomously.

Required skills

• In‑depth understanding of probate legislation and procedures.
• Experience with high‑net‑worth estate and tax considerations.
• Competence in trust creation, administration and related documentation.
• Familiarity with powers of attorney and Court of Protection matters.
