Private Client Tax Associate Director

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Private Client Tax Associate Director to join a leading chartered accountancy practice in Newcastle upon Tyne. You will lead a portfolio of high‑net‑worth individuals, delivering technically robust and commercially minded tax advice while supporting the growth of the private client team.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a diverse portfolio of private client tax matters, including complex self‑assessment returns.
• Provide high‑quality, commercially focused tax advice to high‑net‑worth clients.
• Lead, mentor, and develop junior team members.
• Identify and pursue business development opportunities to expand the private client offering.
• Oversee preparation and review of complex tax compliance work.
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, building long‑term relationships.

Required profile

• Significant experience in a UK practice environment.
• CTA or ACA qualification (or equivalent).
• Proven ability to manage high‑net‑worth client relationships.
• Strong commercial awareness and technical tax expertise.
