Private Client Tax Compliance Manager

About the role

This position is for an experienced Private Client Tax professional who will own a portfolio of high‑net‑worth individuals, directors, landlords, sole traders, trusts and partnerships. You will work in a people‑focused practice, delivering high‑quality tax compliance and proactive advice while enjoying genuine autonomy.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the end‑to‑end Self Assessment compliance process for private clients.
• Prepare and review complex personal tax returns, including income tax, capital gains tax, investment and foreign income.
• Handle partnership and trust tax returns, P11Ds, PSAs and all HMRC correspondence.
• Identify tax planning opportunities, reliefs and allowances for clients.
• Support clients with residency matters, PAYE coding issues, capital gains calculations and inheritance tax considerations.
• Collaborate with Partners on complex advisory matters and mentor junior colleagues.

Required profile

• Significant experience in UK private client tax compliance within an accountancy practice.
• Proven ability to manage a diverse client portfolio independently.
• Strong technical knowledge of personal tax legislation.
• Excellent organisational and client‑relationship skills.
• ATT, CTA qualification or equivalent experience.
