About the role

This position is with a well‑established independent accountancy firm, offering a senior leadership opportunity within its growing tax team. You will manage a diverse portfolio of private client matters while contributing to the development of the wider tax function.

Key responsibilities

• Own and grow a portfolio covering individuals, trusts, estates and partnerships.
• Review and prepare complex self‑assessment tax returns.
• Oversee employment‑related tax compliance for clients.
• Mentor junior team members and support their professional development.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to drive improvements across the tax department.

Required profile

• CTA qualified (or equivalent professional tax qualification).
• Extensive experience in private client tax work.
• Proven ability to manage client portfolios and supervise staff.
• Strong communication skills and client‑facing confidence.

• Inheritance Tax (IHT) knowledge.
