Private Client Tax Manager

About the role

Butler Rose is seeking an experienced Private Client Tax Manager to join its Cambridge office. You will lead the delivery of personal tax services, manage a portfolio of high‑net‑worth clients, and ensure compliance with UK tax regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead preparation and review of complex private client tax returns.
• Manage a diverse client portfolio, maintaining strong relationships.
• Provide expert advice on personal tax planning and compliance.
• Supervise, mentor and delegate work to junior team members.
• Review and approve final tax packs and client correspondence.
• Monitor workflow, work‑in‑progress and fee recovery for efficiency.
• Support business development activities, including proposals and fee quotes.
• Champion new technologies and processes to improve service quality.

Required profile

• Qualified or part‑qualified accountant or tax professional (ATT, CTA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent).
• Strong client focus with the ability to understand objectives and provide clear guidance.
• Excellent decision‑making and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
• Commitment to developing team members and fostering collaboration.
• High attention to detail and delivery of accurate, high‑quality work.
