Private Client Tax Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Private Client Tax Manager to join our dynamic tax team in Exeter. You will work with a diverse portfolio of high‑net‑worth individuals and trusts, delivering high‑quality compliance and advisory services.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of private client cases, including trusts and high‑net‑worth individuals.
• Prepare and review self‑assessment tax returns and other compliance filings.
• Provide IHT, CGT, residence and domicile advice to UK and non‑UK residents.
• Draft reports and correspondence covering tax planning matters.
• Identify opportunities to refer clients to specialist services within the firm.
• Review work of junior team members and support their development.
• Liaise with HMRC, solicitors and other professional bodies to ensure excellent service.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a mixed tax compliance and advisory role.
• ATT or CTA qualified (or equivalent) with up‑to‑date technical knowledge.
• Strong understanding of current tax regulations and compliance standards.
• Highly organised with excellent time‑management skills.
• Professional, discreet and confident in building client relationships.
