Private Clients & Estates Account Handler

About the role

This position is a consultative, family‑office style role focused on high‑net‑worth individuals and landed estates in Edinburgh. You will act as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of affluent clients, delivering bespoke risk‑management advice and overseeing complex insurance programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Provide tailored risk‑management advice beyond standard renewal processes.
• Manage a sophisticated book of business covering heritage properties, fine‑art collections, and other high‑value assets.
• Build and maintain long‑term relationships with estate managers, trustees, and private clients.
• Interpret complex policy wordings and negotiate bespoke terms directly with underwriters.
• Collaborate with internal teams in a merit‑based environment to ensure high‑level service standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in insurance, preferably with exposure to high‑net‑worth, private client, or complex commercial lines.
• Demonstrated ability to retain clients through technical expertise and personalised service.
• Excellent communication skills and confidence when advising sophisticated stakeholders.
• Comfortable working in a hybrid setting, balancing independent portfolio management with team collaboration.
