Probate Assistant – Private Client (Hybrid)

About the role

We are partnering with a well‑established law firm in Liverpool to recruit a Probate Assistant for its Private Client team. The role offers hybrid working and a clear pathway to develop expertise in wills, probate and estate administration while supporting experienced solicitors.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with probate applications and prepare documentation for HMCTS submission.
• Support estate administration, including collection and distribution of assets.
• Liaise with clients, beneficiaries, HMRC, banks and other institutions.
• Draft correspondence and legal documents under supervision.
• Gather financial information relating to estate assets and liabilities.
• Assist with Inheritance Tax (IHT) forms and supporting schedules.
• Maintain accurate records in the case management system.
• Handle general administrative tasks for the Private Client team.

Required profile

• Organised, proactive and keen to develop in Private Client law.
• Previous experience in a legal support or administrative role (Private Client experience advantageous but not essential).
• Genuine interest in wills, probate and estate administration.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills with a professional, empathetic approach.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
