Process Operator – Bakery Production

About the role

We are seeking a Process Operator to join our bakery production team in Edinburgh. You will be involved in the full biscuit‑making process, from mixing and moulding to baking and finishing, ensuring high standards of quality, safety and hygiene.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and operate equipment such as rotary moulders, ovens and chocolate enrobers to produce biscuits to specification.
• Check oven programmes, profiles and recipe sheets to ensure correct production settings.
• Prepare and manage ingredients using touchscreen systems in line with recipes.
• Monitor product quality throughout the process and adjust machinery as needed.
• Complete and maintain control sheets, ensuring colour and quality standards are met.
• Maintain housekeeping standards, keeping equipment and work area clean.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a production or bakery environment is beneficial but not essential (full training provided).
• Good literacy and numeracy to follow processes and complete documentation.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment and use initiative.
• Comfortable with physical tasks, including lifting up to 15 kg.
• Strong awareness of hygiene, safety and quality standards in food manufacturing.
• Team‑focused with a positive attitude.

What we offer

• Rotating dayshift schedule (6 am‑2 pm or 2 pm‑10 pm, Monday‑Friday).
• Full‑time permanent contract, paid monthly.
• Hourly rate of £15.27.
