Process Technician/Process Engineer

About the role

The Process Technician/Process Engineer will join the processing team at Artifex's Scunthorpe facility, working on a rotating three‑shift schedule. The role supports day‑to‑day production, new product launches and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain cycle times using Mattec MES, ensuring OEE targets are met.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities related to cycle time, material usage and scrap.
• Provide shop‑floor support for all processing issues and assist with first‑off quality checks.
• Support new product launches, R@R activities and tool changes.
• Maintain process documentation, setting sheets and safety/crane checks.
• Investigate and resolve process deviations, equipment breakdowns and tooling downtime.
• Drive continual improvement using SMED, 5S, Kaizen and Lean methodologies.

Required profile

• Hands‑on injection moulding experience in the automotive industry.
• Qualifications in injection moulding (BPTA, IMT, GA) Level 3/4.
• Proficiency with Krauss Maffei, Engel, Nissei, Demag and Negri Bossi moulding machines.
• Experience operating Wittmann, ATM, Krauss and Sepro robots.
• English language proficiency and minimum O‑level/GCSE C in numeracy and literacy.

Required skills

• Injection moulding and tool‑setting expertise.
• Mattec MES monitoring.
• Knowledge of OEE, PFMEA and Lean Manufacturing.
• Familiarity with SMED, 5S and Kaizen improvement tools.
• Operation of Krauss Maffei, Engel, Nissei, Demag, Negri Bossi machines.
• Operation of Wittmann, ATM, Krauss and Sepro robots.
