Procurement Advisor – Permanent or 12‑Month Fixed‑Term

About the role

The Procurement Advisor will support the Senior Procurement Advisor in delivering the West Midlands Police procurement strategy. You will lead a portfolio of contracts from planning through tendering, award and ongoing management, ensuring compliance with public sector legislation and delivering value for money.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic procurement plans and tendering processes.
• Manage contract award, ongoing contract administration and supplier performance.
• Ensure governance, compliance with the Public Sector Regulations 2015 and Procurement Act 2023.
• Conduct market, product and supplier research to identify cost‑saving opportunities.
• Collaborate with the Supplier Relationship Manager to implement best‑practice supplier management.
• Engage with internal stakeholders to align procurement activities with organisational goals.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in public‑sector procurement or contract management.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation (Public Sector Regulations 2015, Procurement Act 2023).
• Ability to analyse market data and drive efficiency and cost‑saving initiatives.
• High standards of professional conduct and accountability.
