Procurement Agent – Defence Helicopter Programme

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Procurement Agent to manage a high‑value subcontract supporting UK Defence Helicopter programmes. The role is hybrid, based in Gosport with three days on‑site, and runs for 12 months inside IR35.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee major sub‑contracts worth over £100 million, ensuring compliance with MoD regulations and programme strategy.
• Monitor supplier performance against KPIs, drive cost‑saving initiatives and continuous improvement.
• Coordinate with internal teams, MoD partners and key suppliers to align operational goals.
• Lead complex commercial negotiations, draft contractual terms and mitigate supply‑chain risks.

Required profile

• 10+ years of procurement or supply‑chain experience in the defence sector, preferably with knowledge of helicopter platforms such as Chinook.
• Proven track record managing large‑scale, multi‑supplier relationships and cross‑functional teams.
• Commercial acumen with experience drafting and negotiating contracts within UK MoD frameworks.
• MCIPS accreditation is desirable.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP.

What we offer

• Hourly rate between £45 and £75.
• 12‑month contract with potential extension to 2029.
• Hybrid working model – three days on‑site at Gosport.
