Procurement Controller - Poultry

About the role

The Procurement Controller – Poultry will own the sourcing strategy for all poultry products across Greencore’s UK operations. You will work closely with senior leadership to deliver cost‑effective, sustainable supply while maintaining high supplier performance and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all procurement activities for poultry, managing total portfolio cost and ensuring alignment with business strategies.
• Negotiate contracts and collaborate with internal stakeholders and third‑party suppliers to unlock value and drive savings.
• Develop and implement sourcing strategies that address cost control, risk mitigation and sustainability objectives.
• Oversee supplier identification, selection, and performance management processes.
• Provide strategic leadership to the procurement team, promoting best practices and Greencore Purchasing Excellence.
• Engage regularly with multi‑site teams to ensure quality, inbound service levels and alignment with operational requirements.
• Support inflation recovery initiatives and maintain direct dialogue with customers where required.

Required profile

• Proven experience in procurement or sourcing, preferably within the food or poultry sector.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to lead negotiations and manage supplier relationships.
• Understanding of cost control, risk management and sustainability considerations.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills across multi‑site environments.
