Procurement Lead

About the role

Totalmobile, a technology company behind a platform used by over 500,000 mobile workers, is looking for a Procurement Lead to set up and lead procurement from scratch. There is no existing procurement team, mature processes or governance framework to inherit: the role is a greenfield opportunity to build the function, its processes and strategy. It is a permanent, full-time position based in the UK.

Key responsibilities

• Review the current supplier and contract landscape, analyse spend data and identify ways to increase visibility, reduce risk and maximise value.
• Establish procurement policies, procedures and governance frameworks, including RFIs, RFQs, RFPs, approval workflows and delegation frameworks.
• Develop a 12-, 24- and 36-month procurement roadmap covering contract renewals, supplier optimisation and strategic sourcing.
• Lead procurement exercises end to end, define requirements with stakeholders, manage supplier engagement, negotiate commercial terms and support contract discussions with Legal and Commercial.
• Act as a trusted procurement advisor, helping teams make informed decisions and embed best practice.

Required profile

• An experienced procurement professional with a track record of building processes, governance and sourcing methodologies rather than working within established ones.
• Comfortable doing supplier and spend analysis, developing procurement strategy and managing sourcing across multiple categories.
• Confident working independently, influencing stakeholders and delivering results without extensive support.
• Industry background matters less than experience; technology, professional services, manufacturing or utilities are all acceptable.
• A professional procurement qualification such as CIPS is advantageous, as is experience in high-growth or private equity-backed organisations.
