Procurement Manager – High‑Tech Manufacturing

About the role

We are seeking a Procurement Manager to join our Purchasing Team in Shipley, West Yorkshire. Reporting to the Supply Chain Director, you will shape procurement strategy for high‑spec mechanical, electrical and software‑integrated components within a fast‑growing engineering business.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute procurement strategies for complex, high‑technology components.
• Implement and optimise digital procurement tools such as ERP, PLM and e‑sourcing platforms.
• Ensure procurement processes are efficient, transparent and compliant with internal policies and external regulations.
• Lead, coach and develop a team of Buyers and Purchase Administrators, setting clear objectives and monitoring performance.
• Drive continuous improvement and foster collaboration across the supply chain.

Required profile

• 5‑7+ years of hands‑on procurement experience in high‑tech or advanced manufacturing.
• Engineering or supply‑chain background with strong knowledge of contract law and supplier audits.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain or a related field (CIPS certification preferred).
• Proven ability to manage complex supplier contracts and negotiate effectively.
• Strategic, analytical mindset with strong commercial judgement and risk‑management capabilities.
