Procurement Officer – Public Sector (Manchester)

About the role

We are looking for a Procurement Officer to join our team on a temporary basis in Manchester. The role focuses on public‑sector procurement, supporting colleagues to apply best‑practice processes and ensuring compliance with STAR guidelines and relevant legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop a strong understanding of STAR and public‑sector procurement frameworks.
• Assist in the preparation of tenders and manage projects through the e‑tendering system.
• Coordinate supplier engagement and maintain clear communication throughout the procurement cycle.
• Support evaluation panels to deliver compliant and effective outcomes.
• Ensure all procurement activities align with established policies, procedures and legislation.

Required profile

• Experience working in public‑sector procurement or a similar purchasing environment.
• Familiarity with STAR procurement framework and e‑tendering processes.
• Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external suppliers.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
