Procurement Solicitor (Public Procurement)

About the role

The firm is seeking an experienced procurement solicitor to join its national public‑procurement team in Oxford. You will provide specialist legal advice on public procurement matters to both contracting authorities and suppliers across the public and private sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Draft and advise on procurement documentation throughout the full procurement lifecycle, including contract notices, tender documents, evaluation strategies, stand‑still communications and contract awards.
• Provide strategic procurement advice and broader advisory services to clients, addressing challenges, disputes and decision‑making processes.
• Support business development activities, nurture client relationships and represent the firm at networking and speaking events.
• Mentor and supervise junior team members, contributing to their professional development.

Required profile

• Minimum of 5 years post‑qualification experience (PQE) in public procurement law.
• Proven ability to manage a caseload and client relationships independently.
• Strong commercial awareness and a solid understanding of the public sector.
• Enthusiasm for public‑procurement work and willingness to contribute to practice growth.
