Procurement Specialist – Category Strategy & ESG

About the role

Whistl is seeking a commercially driven Procurement Specialist to join its Business Services & ESG team in Marlow. You will shape category strategies, deliver measurable cost savings and enhance supplier performance while supporting the company’s ESG and net‑zero goals.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute sourcing and category strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Conduct supplier market and spend analysis to uncover opportunities.
• Lead end‑to‑end sourcing activities, including tendering, supplier selection and contract negotiation.
• Build strong internal stakeholder relationships and influence decision‑making.
• Manage supplier performance against KPIs and drive continuous improvement.
• Deliver measurable savings through cost reduction, avoidance and efficiency initiatives.
• Identify and mitigate supply‑chain risks and embed ESG principles.
• Explore and adopt new technologies, including AI, to improve procurement processes.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience in procurement or sourcing roles.
• Proven track record of delivering sourcing strategies and commercial value.
• Strong experience managing supplier performance and negotiating contracts.
• Degree qualified (or equivalent experience) – CIPS qualification preferred.
