Product Compliance Manager

About the role

The Product Compliance Manager will lead the Product Compliance team for TJX Europe, ensuring that all merchandise sold across the UK and Europe meets the highest safety and regulatory standards. Working closely with buying, product development and external regulators, you will shape and execute strategies that minimise product‑related risk and protect customers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the Product Compliance strategy, addressing short‑ and medium‑term market priorities.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and external regulators to interpret and apply trading regulations and safety standards.
• Provide expert advice to unlock trading opportunities while managing regulatory risk.
• Collaborate with functional teams to translate business challenges into compliance requirements.
• Set and monitor compliance standards, driving continuous improvement and risk reduction.
• Manage budgets and lead cost‑efficiency initiatives within the compliance function.
• Coach, mentor and develop the Product Compliance team, fostering expertise and leadership.
• Deliver technical compliance support to buyers and vendors, ensuring timely resolution of product safety issues.

Required profile

• Proven experience in product safety, regulatory compliance or related fields, preferably within a retail environment.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills across multiple business functions.
• Ability to translate complex regulations into practical business actions.
• Leadership mindset with experience coaching and developing teams.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
