Product Owner (Contract)

About the role

Pontoon is looking for an experienced Product Owner to join a cross‑functional team delivering modernised customer and colleague journeys on Pega Cloud. The role is contract‑based for six months, with the possibility of extension, and will be based at the Bristol Harbourside office (with occasional on‑site days in Leeds or Edinburgh).

Key responsibilities

• Define and communicate a clear product vision aligned with business strategy.
• Translate strategic objectives into epics, features and user stories and maintain a prioritized backlog.
• Lead discovery, refinement and planning sessions to ensure work is ready for delivery.
• Measure benefits realisation, report product performance and ensure delivery follows MVP principles.
• Collaborate with Lab Product Owner, Engineering Lead, Integrators, Customer Journey Managers and development teams.
• Manage cross‑team dependencies, governance, risk and issue management.
• Support release and implementation planning, business readiness, training and hand‑over activities.

Required profile

• Proven Product Owner experience in Agile environments.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing abilities.
• Ability to translate strategy into concrete delivery outcomes.
• Experience working with cross‑functional teams on complex insurance, pensions or investments journeys.
