Product Owner – Electrical Engineering Software

About the role

As the Product Owner for AVEVA's Electrical Engineering Software, you will shape the roadmap of a critical design tool used by industrial engineers worldwide. Working in a hybrid setting in Cambridge, you will collaborate with developers, testers, scrum masters and senior stakeholders to deliver high‑quality, customer‑focused features.

Key responsibilities

• Translate complex electrical engineering requirements into clear, detailed user stories.
• Maintain and refine the product backlog, ensuring priorities reflect business and customer needs.
• Provide sufficient detail in stories to enable accurate estimation, development and comprehensive testing.
• Engage with reference groups, customer workshops and Voice‑of‑Customer sessions to validate requirements.
• Participate in sprint ceremonies, communicate progress, demonstrate deliverables and support product‑vision validation.

Required profile

• Degree‑qualified or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering.
• Proven experience in electrically intensive sectors such as process plant, power generation, marine, oil & gas, or food & beverage.
• Strong understanding of LV/MV/HV distribution, control systems and instrumentation within CAD‑based design workflows.
• Experience producing or reviewing electrical design deliverables (single‑line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, equipment layouts, panel drawings).
• Familiarity with IEC, BS, IEEE or client‑specific electrical standards.

Required skills

• ETAP or similar power‑system analysis and simulation tools.
• Proficiency with CAD‑based electrical design environments.
