Product Specialist (Buying)

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for an organised, proactive professional to join a growing business as a Product Specialist (Buying). You will manage the end‑to‑end product launch process, ensuring timely delivery and high standards while acting as the central hub between internal teams and customers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the critical path for product launches across assigned accounts.
• Oversee the full product lifecycle from approval through launch to discontinuation.
• Create internal product specifications and detailed requirements.
• Produce costings based on briefs from the sales team.
• Manage and track critical‑path plans, ensuring milestones are met.
• Identify, escalate and resolve risks impacting launch timelines.
• Maintain product codes, price lists and discontinuation activities.
• Design and manage artwork for packaging, labels and supporting materials.
• Conduct market research and product reviews to spot improvement opportunities.
• Coordinate packaging trials and ensure products meet agreed specifications.
• Attend customer meetings, support product discussions and handle queries.
• Provide cover for colleagues and contribute to wider product‑management projects.

Required profile

• Experience in product management, project management or new product development coordination.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Proactive attitude with a focus on continuous improvement.
