Production and Operations Manager

About the role

Join a world‑leading engineering business that designs high‑performance fibre‑optic transmission systems. As Production & Operations Manager you will lead the Maidenhead manufacturing facility, driving efficiency, quality and team development.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all production activities including assembly, wiring, fibre‑optic manufacture, testing and final inspection.
• Develop and mentor the production team, fostering accountability, teamwork and continuous improvement.
• Create and maintain production schedules aligned with customer demand, using accurate MRP data.
• Champion Lean Manufacturing principles, identify waste and lead improvement projects.
• Collaborate with Purchasing to optimise supplier performance and inventory control.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 standards and drive reductions in defects and returns.
• Control manufacturing costs, support budgeting and capacity planning, and report performance to senior leadership.

Required profile

• Significant experience managing electronics or electro‑mechanical manufacturing operations.
• Proven leadership in high‑quality, high‑reliability environments.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and commercial acumen.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
