Production Engineer – Optical & Semiconductor Systems

About the role

Infinitesima is seeking a Production Engineer to build, integrate and test precision optical, electro‑mechanical and photonic assemblies that form the core of its next‑generation semiconductor metrology systems. You will work on low‑volume, high‑value hardware, collaborating closely with engineers and scientists to solve manufacturing challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Manufacture and test complex optical, cabling and electro‑mechanical sub‑assemblies, ensuring compliance with procedures, quality standards and performance specifications.
• Lead root‑cause investigations, implement permanent corrective actions and work with cross‑functional teams to resolve manufacturing issues.
• Design and execute safe trials for process improvements, validate changes and update standards to boost reliability and efficiency.
• Drive system integration activities, validate module and system performance, and ensure manufacturing readiness for new products.
• Mentor colleagues, manage Bill‑of‑Materials kit readiness and uphold high standards of housekeeping, health and safety.
• Partner with Engineering on new product introduction (NPI) and transfer of new processes into production.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of experience in a senior production or manufacturing role within semiconductor equipment, photonics, scientific instrumentation, aerospace, medical devices or similar advanced‑technology environments.
• Proven ability to work on complex, low‑volume hardware and deliver high‑quality, right‑first‑time assemblies.
• Strong analytical mindset with experience leading root‑cause analysis and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
