Production Maintenance Team Leader (Night Shift)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Production Maintenance Team Leader to manage a night‑shift team of technicians and electricians in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. The role is a 12‑month fixed‑term contract working 7 pm‑7 am, Monday to Thursday, and offers a competitive shift premium.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of Production Maintenance Technicians and Electricians.
• Plan and prioritise engineering activities to maximise equipment uptime and minimise production downtime.
• Drive Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) programmes and equipment lifecycle management.
• Manage team performance, attendance, training and development.
• Provide responsive engineering support across a 24‑hour manufacturing operation.
• Identify and implement continuous‑improvement initiatives to improve reliability and reduce waste.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality and other support functions to resolve engineering issues and achieve site KPIs.
• Ensure all engineering activities comply with Health & Safety, GMP and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent vocational qualification.
• Previous experience leading engineering or maintenance teams in FMCG, pharmaceutical, cosmetics or similar manufacturing environments.
• Strong mechanical and/or electrical engineering knowledge.
• Proven people‑management skills, including performance management, coaching and team development.
• Excellent communication, planning and organisational abilities.
