Production Manager – Food Manufacturing

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead day‑to‑day operations for a growing food manufacturing business in Gloucestershire. Reporting to the senior leadership team, you will own production planning, quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives to support the company’s next growth phase.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and develop the production team, handling recruitment, training and performance reviews.
• Plan and schedule production to meet customer demand while maintaining on‑time delivery.
• Drive efficiencies, review workflows, optimise equipment utilisation and champion continuous improvement.
• Maintain HACCP, COSHH, health & safety and food‑safety compliance across the site.
• Oversee quality control, product consistency and manage supplier relationships, including cost negotiations.
• Monitor margins, costs and operational performance, ensuring accurate product specifications, allergen information and recipe costings.
• Support new product development and roll up sleeves to assist on the shop floor when required.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in food production, bakery, confectionery or FMCG manufacturing.
• Strong commercial awareness with the ability to manage margins and costs.
• Excellent organisational and planning abilities.
• Full UK driving licence.
