Production Manager

About the role

Based in Clacton-on-Sea, you will join a well‑known manufacturing company that designs and builds precision engineering parts and equipment. As Production Manager you will own the end‑to‑end manufacturing operations across several departments, including press shop, assembly, moulding, die‑casting and maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop large production teams to meet production, quality and delivery targets.
• Take full accountability for health & safety, customer quality, operational costs and on‑time delivery performance.
• Drive continuous improvement using Lean Manufacturing principles and best‑practice methodologies.
• Develop and implement manufacturing strategies that support business growth and operational excellence.
• Plan and manage daily, weekly and monthly production schedules to fulfil customer requirements efficiently.

Required profile

• Significant experience in a Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Operations Manager or similar leadership role.
• Proven ability to lead large production teams within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
• Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt qualification or equivalent is highly desirable.
• Experience working in ISO‑accredited environments, preferably ISO 9001 and/or ISO 13485.
• Deep understanding of manufacturing processes, production planning and operational performance management.
