Production Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Production Manager to lead the busy production department of a well‑established signage and graphics business in Braintree. The role involves overseeing the manufacture and installation of a wide range of signage products, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day operations of the production department, coordinating schedules and allocating resources.
• Operate and supervise digital printing equipment, laminators, vinyl cutters and CNC cutting machinery.
• Monitor product quality, troubleshoot issues and implement solutions to minimise downtime.
• Lead, motivate and develop a small team of production staff, conducting performance reviews and providing training.
• Organise and carry out on‑site signage installations, including site surveys and safety compliance.
• Review and improve production workflows, reduce waste and increase productivity.
• Maintain health and safety standards and liaise with office and administration teams.
• Monitor stock levels, support forecasting, purchasing and supplier management.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a production environment, preferably within signage, graphics or related manufacturing.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Hands‑on approach with a focus on quality, efficiency and continuous improvement.
• Ability to lead a team, provide training and foster a positive working environment.
